CABONGAOAN BEACH in BURGOS, PANGASINAN
Contributed by: Jen Miaga
Cabongaoan Beach is one must-see spot. Perfect for solo, a trip with family or friends, company getaway this summer. Caboangaoan is white to a golden sand beach located in Burgos, Pangasinan.
Personally, I amazed with clear water, white to golden sands, the waves seem inviting for surfing, rock formations surround the beach and the most popular spots at the right side of the beach – “The Death Pool”. It is the coin shape and natural pool. According to locals, the lagoons are more than 20ft. deep.
Along the way to Death Pool, there are rock formations. Having footwear is advisable.
How to get to Cabongaoan Beach:
Ride any bus going to Sta. Cruz, Zambales and tell them to drop you off at Burgos (bayan). Then from Burgos, you can ride a tricycle going to Cabongaoan beach or to Roven’s Place.
What I did was from Victory Liner Pasay > Dagupan (5-6hrs) > Burgos (2hrs) > Cabongaoan Beach (1hr). That’s more or less 9 hrs ride, so make sure you bring things to occupy your time. I traveled during nighttime so it wouldn’t be that traffic.
Going back to Manila:
Ride a tricycle going to Burgos market. From there, wait for a jeepney going to Alaminos and have them drop you off at the Cubao Bus Terminal. The last trip going Cubao is 7 pm.
When you get to Burgos town, I suggest you buy your food and drinks. Cabongaoan beach is not fully developed yet.
There is no entrance fee at Cabongaoan beach. You can go to Roven’s place, they have small huts where you can chill. Since I was solo, and only used the hut for half a day, I only paid 150 pesos. But if you’re in a group, it’ll cost about 500. They also have kubo fan rooms where you can stay overnight, a room for 4 costs 1,800. You can bring your own tent and pitch it by the beach, overnight I think is 500 pesos.
Besides chillin’, you can also explore the small hills by the beach. I was blessed to have a great guide/tricycle driver Kuya Marlon! Haha! he showed me where to go and took wonderful pictures as well!
Oh, there is limited signal strength especially for Smart subscribers, though I also had a hard time with Globe.
